Happy Birthday, Harris Ashford

New story on Thunder Mesa: Happy Birthday, Harris Ashford

It’s another sequel to Super Soak and Facing the Tuggernauts.  If you read it, let me know what you think.  Even if you hate it.

Sometimes I have to let my ideas get destroyed so that they can get remade and become better.

New story by me!

New story on Thunder Mesa called Insomnia.  Check it out.

You know what beats heartburn better than pills? EXERCISING.

Dry Eye

Waiting for the packages with undetermined hands
Working at a trade to get you by
Picturing the glory that your future work demands
Cardboard leaves your palms and fingers dry, so dry
Cardboard leaves your palms and fingers dry

Standing on the threshold with the light so far away
You reciting someone else’s lie
They sit in the darkness with their pencils packed away
Times like these that make you wonder why
Oh why
Light and dark and make you wonder why

Sitting and reclining as the advertisements play
They get your emotions running high
Whisper soft opinions to the bodies in your way
Hard to see when cat has got your eye, cat’s eye
Hard to see when cat has got your eye

Lying in a sleeping bag that might become your bed
Tired just enough to make you cry
Listening to voices tell the truth inside your head
Never knowing which could be a lie
No lie
Hope and wish and pray and think and lie

I have a creative writing blog I will be updating every Thursday (fingers crossed).  Check it out, kids!  I posted one today (cuz it’s Thursday (which, incidentally, came to be known at my former workplace as “Lucas Friday”.  Don’t ask. (or you can, I don’t care, do whatever you feel like.)))

If it would help you to forget, I could hit you in the brainstem with this candlestick.

One time, I went to the gym today, and I almost blacked out, and the trainer was like, “You’re a good person,” and I was like, “Prove it.”

Or something. I don’t remember. Cuz I almost blacked out.
